Musical Arrangements
Having a band or chorus director that is capable + confident in arranging music is a great asset to any program. Vocal and instrumental parts can be written that compliment the makeup and ability level of the performing groups. Custom arrangements will highlight the strengths of the ensembles and allow them make music they are proud of.
In my time teaching, I have arranged parts for my Chorus and Jazz band, as well as full scores for combined Band and Chorus pieces.
Excerpt from Let It Be — a full arrangement for chorus and band created for and performed at a middle school school concert including four part vocal harmonies and rich instrumental parts. This arrangement is inspired by the Beatles’ original, as well as the best and most innovative interpretations of the song by other artists.
Excerpt from Happy — a complete, upbeat and invigorating arrangement for chorus and band created for and performed at a school concert. This arrangement takes the musical choices made by Pharrel Williams for his original song and transforms them into an even more bright + energetic performance.
